Περιγραφή & Ένδειξη

Desipramine is a tricyclic dibenzazepine compound that potentiates neurotransmission. It belongs to the tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) class of drugs. It increases neurotransmission by blocking the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin from the synaptic cleft. The anticholinergic effects of desimpramine are attributed to its mild antimuscarinic effects.

Κύρια Ένδειξη

For relief of symptoms in various depressive syndromes, especially endogenous depression. It has also been used to manage chronic peripheral neuropathic pain, as a second line agent for the management of anxiety disorders (e.g. panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder), and as a second or third line agent in the ADHD management.
